WAM Launch!

It was a definite pleasure being invited to the co-working space The Worx, located at CIBC Bank in Maraval at Long Circular, a beautiful space for professionals to foster innovation and collaboration.

Also, congratulations on the launch of WAM, a digital wallet founded by @MarcPereira, designed to make financial transactions easier, faster, and more inclusive across the Caribbean.

What impressed me most was how the team is meeting people where they are. They visited rural areas like Toco, where there are no banks or ATMs, and many small business owners rely solely on cash. By listening, learning, and going shop by shop, they are bringing online payments and financial inclusion to those communities, truly inspiring work.

Another highlight WAM is partnered with Visa!

Small businesses like mine would be able to accept card payments directly from our phones, no complicated machines needed. Customers can simply tap their card on the app, making transactions much easier. I can already see Shareiss Beauty Shop Supplies benefiting from this for customers who ask about online payment options.

The app is also super easy to use send or request money, share payment links via WhatsApp, track payments, and more. The evening ended with a performance by Freetown Collective, making it even more memorable.

As an entrepreneur, it motivated me to push forward, improve, and make an impact in my own space, the hair industry.

Congratulations again to Marc Pereira, the WAM team, and everyone involved. This is a big step for innovation in Trinidad and Tobago, and I can’t wait to see it expand regionally. 🌍
